Hello, I’m James Adcock, accountant by profession, growth enthusiast by nature, and founder of Polaris Accounting.
My story
After nearly two decades of working in senior finance and operational roles, I saw just how powerful the right financial support can be, not just for hitting targets or filing returns, but for genuinely building something great.
That’s why I created Polaris Accounting. To give small business owners, right here in Woking, the kind of forward-thinking support they need to grow, just without all that corporate fluff.
I’m a numbers guy (no surprise there), but what really drives me is helping clients make sense of those numbers and use them to make better decisions. I enjoy solving problems and digging into the data to see what’s holding a business back and how to fix it. I’m also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), which reflects both my professional skills and long-standing commitment to quality work.
When I’m not crunching the numbers, I’m likely running after my kids, often on muddy football fields, in trampoline parks, or at campsites. We love to explore! And on movie nights, you’ll find me swallowed in duvets surrounded by sweets and popcorn.

The name Polaris comes from the North Star. It’s constant, reliable, and always there to help you find your way. And that’s exactly how I want clients to feel when they work with Polaris.
